Awesome Game Series: Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon is a series that was first released on SNES in 1996 by a company that is now known as Marvelous Entertainment Inc. This game is a RPG that is based on you having a Farm life. The game has been spread across many Nintendo consoles and continues to grow.

I personally like this game because you can never truly beat it so you can play on and on. In the series you usually come upon a Not to good Town that you want to raise a farm on but it’s not just an ordinary Town because it has a Harvest Goddess. Your mission is to save the harvest goddess and bring the town back to life. You complete this mission by doing good and making your farm successful. The way you complete the mission also depends on which Harvest moon you get.

The series has games where you can only be a girl and some where you can be only a boy, but also one where you can be which ever you want. The different games also effect whether you get to play as your child or if the child only grows to a certain age and stops. Now for you to have a child you have to of course get a Husband Or/Wife you accomplish this by making them fall in love with you, you do this buy giving them their favorite gifts and talking to them everyday. You are able to pick your spouse out of the villagers who are able to marry, not to old, not already married, Etc.

Now on to the farming part, when you first get into town you are asked many questions and one of them is where you would like to live in the village (what plot would you like to own) usually there is a town plot, River/Mountain plot and Ocean/Seashore plot, each plot has it’s pros and cons. Once you choose your plot you are able to start farming, first you most likely start off with the crops part of farming, (considering you need a barn and coop for Live stock) often you get your first set of seeds free due to the owner of the crop shop being nice. You are able to ship each crop you grow and the amount of money you receive for the crop depends on how valuable and how long it takes to grow the crop. Now the live stock part, this is much more difficult because you have to have a barn or coop built before you are able to own any Cow’s, Chickens, Goats and much more. Once you get your live stock you can get product like milk & wool from them which you can sell and make good money to better your farm.

Overall this Game series is good for someone who is willing to spend a long time playing one game. Some one who loves RPG and just loves a good story. I rate this game an 8/10 because of the length and how each game has different ways of raising your farm and saving the Harvest Goddess.
